STEEL FABRICATOR

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience as a Steel Fabricator, Structural Steel Fabricator, or in a related position.
• At least a high school graduate.
• Experience in steel fabrication, cutting, fitting, assembly, and preparation of structural steel components.
• Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings, shop drawings, sketches, measurements, and technical instructions.
• Knowledge of steel materials, fabrication methods, hand tools, power tools, cutting equipment, grinders, drills, and related machinery.
• Ability to accurately measure, mark, cut, shape, drill, fit, and assemble steel components.
• Knowledge of basic steel fit-up and preparation procedures.
• Ability to identify dimensional errors, fit-up problems, and fabrication defects.
• Experience working in GCC countries is preferred.
• Physically fit and capable of lifting, carrying, bending, standing, and working in demanding construction and fabrication environments.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Good understanding of workplace safety procedures and proper use of PPE.
• Able to follow instructions from supervisors, engineers, and project personnel.
• Responsible, hardworking, reliable, and disciplined.
• Willing to work outdoors and in various construction and fabrication site conditions.
• Male applicants are preferred for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Fabricate steel components, structures, frames, supports, brackets, and other steel assemblies according to project requirements.
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings, shop drawings, sketches, measurements, and technical specifications.
• Measure and mark steel materials accurately before cutting and fabrication.
• Cut steel plates, bars, pipes, beams, angles, channels, and other structural materials using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Operate cutting machines, grinders, drills, welding equipment, and other fabrication tools safely.
• Shape, bend, drill, and prepare steel materials according to required dimensions and specifications.
• Fit and assemble steel components before welding or final installation.
• Perform tack welding and assist welders in securing fabricated components when required.
• Ensure fabricated steel components are properly aligned, leveled, squared, and dimensionally accurate.
• Check measurements, angles, dimensions, joints, and overall fit-up before final assembly.
• Prepare steel surfaces by grinding, cleaning, deburring, and removing rust or other contaminants.
• Assist with the fabrication of structural steel, platforms, handrails, ladders, supports, frames, and other project components.
• Make adjustments and corrections to fabricated components when measurements or fit-up do not meet specifications.
• Inspect finished fabricated work for defects, dimensional errors, poor fit-up, or other quality issues.
• Report material defects, equipment problems, fabrication issues, and safety concerns to supervisors.
• Properly handle, move, and position steel materials using appropriate manual or mechanical handling methods.
• Assist with loading, unloading, transporting, and organizing steel materials and fabricated components.
• Maintain fabrication tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe condition.
• Minimize material waste through accurate measurement, cutting, and proper material handling.
• Follow fabrication procedures, project specifications, technical instructions, and quality requirements.
• Coordinate with welders, fitters, supervisors, engineers, and other construction personnel.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety helmet, gloves, safety shoes, eye protection, and other required equipment.
• Follow workplace safety procedures when working with cutting tools, grinding equipment, welding activities, heavy materials, and lifting operations.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and remove scrap metal and other waste from the work area.
• Perform other steel fabrication, assembly, construction, and site support duties assigned by management.
