WATER PLANT TECHNICIAN

Qualifications:

• A minimum of five (5) years of relevant working experience is required.
• At least a High School Graduate.
• Strong experience in the operation and monitoring of water treatment plants and water treatment machinery.
• Knowledge of process control and water treatment plant operations.
• Experience in chemical dosing and safe handling of water treatment chemicals.
• Knowledge and experience in water quality testing and monitoring.
• Ability to operate, monitor, and adjust water treatment equipment and process parameters.
• Knowledge of pumps, valves, filters, tanks, dosing systems, and other water treatment equipment is an advantage.
• Ability to identify abnormal plant conditions and perform basic troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with environmental compliance, water quality standards, and workplace safety procedures.
• Ability to accurately record operational readings, test results, chemical consumption, and maintenance observations.
• Physically fit and capable of working in a water treatment plant environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe and efficient plant operations.
• Responsible, reliable, hardworking, and able to work effectively with plant operations and maintenance teams.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends, or extended hours according to plant operating requirements.
• Male applicants are preferred for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor water treatment machines and plant equipment according to established operating procedures.
• Ensure the continuous and efficient operation of water treatment processes.
• Monitor plant machinery, pumps, valves, tanks, filters, dosing systems, and other treatment equipment.
• Apply knowledge of process control to regulate and maintain water treatment operations.
• Monitor process parameters and make appropriate operational adjustments when required.
• Perform chemical dosing according to established treatment procedures and required dosage levels.
• Handle and use water treatment chemicals safely and correctly.
• Conduct routine water quality testing using appropriate testing equipment and procedures.
• Monitor water quality parameters to ensure treated water meets required standards.
• Record and maintain accurate readings, test results, chemical usage, equipment status, and operational data.
• Identify abnormal operating conditions, equipment malfunctions, leaks, or changes in water quality.
• Troubleshoot basic operational and mechanical problems affecting water treatment equipment.
• Report equipment breakdowns, process abnormalities, safety concerns, and maintenance requirements to supervisors.
• Perform routine inspections of water treatment equipment and plant facilities.
• Assist maintenance personnel with preventive maintenance, repairs, cleaning, and servicing of plant equipment.
• Maintain proper chemical storage, handling, and labeling procedures.
• Ensure work areas, treatment equipment, and plant facilities are kept clean and orderly.
• Follow established environmental, health, safety, and sanitation procedures.
• Ensure water treatment operations are conducted in accordance with applicable environmental requirements and company standards.
• Monitor plant operations to help prevent contamination, equipment failure, and process interruptions.
• Assist in maintaining proper documentation for environmental compliance and plant operations.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling chemicals and performing plant operations.
• Participate in emergency response procedures and follow plant safety protocols.
• Perform other water treatment plant operations and technical duties assigned by management.
