Sushi Chef

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role.
• Strong knowledge of sushi preparation, Japanese cuisine, food production, and food handling procedures.
• Skilled in fish preparation, knife handling, sushi rolling, plating, and presentation techniques.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced food service environment.
• Committed to delivering high-quality food and excellent customer satisfaction.
• Thorough understanding of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
• Positive attitude with excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Able to work under pressure while maintaining consistency and quality.
• Willing to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays, when required.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, maki rolls, hand rolls, and other Japanese specialties.
• Select, prepare, slice, and handle fresh fish, seafood, vegetables, and other ingredients according to food safety standards.
• Ensure all sushi products are prepared with consistency, accuracy, and high-quality presentation.
• Monitor food quality, freshness, and inventory to minimize waste and maintain product standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the sushi station, kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.
• Follow standard recipes, portion control, and company food preparation procedures.
• Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing food supplies and ingredients.
• Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health, and safety regulations at all times.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production and timely service during busy operations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation throughout each shift.
• Assist in menu preparation, product improvement, and other kitchen duties as assigned by management.
