Saute Chef

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of working experience is required.
• No minimum educational attainment is required for this position.
• Proven experience in sauté cooking, hot kitchen operations, and professional food preparation.
• Strong knowledge of cooking techniques including sautéing, searing, braising, frying, and sauce preparation.
• Experience preparing meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and accompanying sauces and gravies.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to maintaining high culinary and presentation standards.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook dishes using sautéing, searing, braising, frying, and other hot kitchen cooking techniques.
• Cook meats, fish, seafood, poultry, and vegetables according to restaurant recipes and specifications.
• Prepare and finish sauces, gravies, reductions, and accompaniments that complement menu items.
• Ensure all dishes are prepared to the required quality, temperature, portion size, and presentation standards.
• Monitor the freshness and quality of ingredients used in food preparation.
• Maintain consistency in taste, texture, and appearance across all dishes served.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of customer orders.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sauté station and kitchen work areas.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and health regulations at all times.
• Assist in inventory monitoring and report ingredient shortages or quality concerns.
• Minimize food waste through proper preparation, storage, and portion control practices.
• Support menu development and contribute ideas for new dishes and culinary improvements when required.
