Universal Cold Store Company is seeking dedicated Poultry Caretakers to support the daily care and management of poultry within farm operations. The successful candidate will ensure the health, welfare, and productivity of poultry by maintaining proper feeding, watering, housing conditions, and biosecurity while following company procedures and animal welfare standards.
Poultry Caretaker
Qualifications:
- Male applicants only.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience as a Poultry Caretaker or in a similar agricultural role.
- Technical knowledge and practical experience in poultry farming or livestock operations.
- Familiarity with poultry production, feed mills, hatcheries, processing plants, or industrial agricultural operations is preferred.
- Basic understanding of poultry nutrition, flock management, biosecurity, and disease prevention.
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual work in farm environments.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care for poultry by ensuring adequate feed, clean water, and proper living conditions.
- Monitor the health and behavior of birds and promptly report signs of illness, injury, or abnormal behavior to supervisors.
- Maintain proper environmental conditions inside poultry houses, including temperature, ventilation, humidity, and lighting.
- Assist in feeding programs, bird weighing, flock inspections, vaccination schedules, and medication administration under supervision.
- Collect, sort, and handle eggs or assist with bird handling and transfer operations as required.
- Clean and disinfect poultry houses, feeding systems, drinkers, equipment, and surrounding work areas.
- Follow strict biosecurity measures to prevent disease outbreaks and maintain flock health.
- Operate and perform basic maintenance on feeding, watering, ventilation, and environmental control systems.
- Record daily production data, feed consumption, mortality, and other operational information accurately.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and transportation of poultry when required.
- Comply with company standard operating procedures (SOPs), workplace safety regulations, and animal welfare guidelines.
- Perform other poultry farm duties assigned by management.
