Middle East Maritime Repair (MEMR) is seeking highly experienced Electrical Technicians to support electrical maintenance operations in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidates will be responsible for installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment, particularly those used in marine, offshore, shipyard, and industrial environments.
ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN
Qualifications:
- At least 8 years of experience in electrical maintenance or marine electrical systems maintenance.
- Strong experience with electrical systems and equipment used in marine, offshore, shipyard, or industrial environments.
- Familiarity with power distribution systems, generators, motors, switchboards, and control panels.
- Knowledge of lighting systems, batteries, chargers, sensors, alarms, and monitoring equipment.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical faults and perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and equipment manuals.
- Good knowledge of electrical testing, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair procedures.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety practices and safe maintenance procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in demanding marine, shipyard, offshore, or industrial environments.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to safety and quality.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with supervisors and other technical personnel.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, machinery, and equipment.
- Inspect electrical installations and equipment to identify faults, defects, wear, and potential safety hazards.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits, components, control systems, and equipment.
- Maintain and troubleshoot power distribution systems, generators, motors, and switchboards.
- Inspect, test, and maintain electrical control panels and associated components.
- Maintain and troubleshoot lighting systems, batteries, chargers, sensors, alarms, and monitoring equipment.
- Conduct electrical testing and measurements using appropriate test instruments and diagnostic equipment.
- Identify electrical faults and determine appropriate repair or replacement requirements.
- Perform routine inspections of cables, connections, terminals, breakers, fuses, relays, and other electrical components.
- Assist with installation, modification, replacement, and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, equipment manuals, and technical instructions.
- Ensure electrical equipment operates within required specifications and safety standards.
- Carry out maintenance activities on electrical systems used in marine, offshore, shipyard, and industrial facilities.
- Assist in the inspection and maintenance of shipboard or marine electrical systems where applicable.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, testing results, and equipment conditions.
- Report electrical defects, unsafe conditions, equipment failures, and maintenance requirements to the supervisor.
- Follow approved maintenance procedures, technical specifications, and manufacturer recommendations.
- Ensure all electrical work is performed in compliance with applicable workplace safety procedures.
- Apply proper lockout/tagout and electrical isolation procedures before performing maintenance work.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and electrical safety equipment at all times.
- Maintain electrical tools, testing instruments, and work areas in clean, safe, and serviceable condition.
- Coordinate with mechanical technicians, engineers, supervisors, and other trades during maintenance and repair activities.
- Respond to electrical breakdowns and urgent maintenance requirements as assigned.
- Perform other electrical maintenance and technical duties assigned by the supervisor.
