Body Preparation Foreman
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of working experience is required.
- Must have a background in a ceramic company or ceramic manufacturing environment.
- Candidates must be a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in Others or similar fields.
- Practical knowledge and experience in ceramic body preparation operations.
- Knowledge of batching recipes, ball mill loading, slip preparation, and spray drying processes.
- Ability to understand and follow production programs, batching recipes, operating instructions, and technical procedures.
- Knowledge of raw material, slip, and spray-dried powder parameters and their importance to ceramic production quality.
- Ability to monitor, maintain, and accurately record production and process parameters.
- Good supervisory and operator-management skills.
- Ability to identify operational deviations and take or recommend appropriate corrective action.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistent product quality.
- Good organizational and planning skills, particularly in managing shift activities.
- Ability to maintain accurate logbooks, production records, and shift documentation.
- Ability to conduct clear and complete shift handovers.
- Basic knowledge of spare parts, additives, and production material stock monitoring.
- Strong teamwork, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of workplace safety, housekeeping, and quality procedures in a ceramic manufacturing environment.
- Good English communication skills.
- Responsible, disciplined, organized, and capable of working effectively in a production and supervisory environment.
Responsibilities:
- Check batching recipes for ball mill loading and spray dryer requirements according to the production program.
Review the daily production program and understand the required production targets and activities for the assigned shift.
Record the daily production program and instructions in the supervisor’s logbook.
Plan shift activities based on production requirements, available resources, equipment condition, and operational priorities.
Supervise operators involved in body preparation and related ceramic production activities.
Monitor the performance of operators and ensure that work is carried out according to established procedures.
Correct or report operational deviations observed during the production process.
Monitor batching, ball mill loading, slip preparation, and spray drying operations to ensure smooth production.
Ensure raw materials are prepared and processed according to approved recipes and production specifications.
Monitor the required parameters of raw materials, slip, and spray-dried powder.
Ensure production parameters remain within specified operating and quality standards.
Record raw material, slip, and spray-dried powder parameters accurately and consistently.
Monitor production data and identify deviations that may affect body quality or downstream ceramic tile production.
Coordinate with supervisors, operators, quality personnel, and other departments regarding production and quality concerns.
Maintain and regularly update the shift logbook, production records, and other required documentation.
Ensure all shift activities, production status, equipment conditions, and outstanding issues are properly documented.
Conduct a complete and accurate handover of shift activities, production status, and pending concerns to the reliever.
Maintain the minimum required stock of spare parts and additives needed for continuous operations.
Monitor stock levels and immediately highlight shortages or potential supply issues to the supervisor.
Assist in coordinating the timely availability of raw materials, additives, spare parts, and other required production resources.
Monitor equipment condition and report abnormalities, breakdowns, or maintenance requirements.
Ensure proper housekeeping and cleanliness in the body preparation area.
Ensure operators follow established workplace safety, quality, and operational procedures.
Assist in investigating process deviations and implementing appropriate corrective actions.
Support continuous improvement efforts to improve production efficiency, product consistency, and operational reliability.
Ensure production activities comply with applicable Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and company procedures.
Perform other body preparation, ceramic production, supervisory, and shift-related duties assigned by management.
