Glaze Line Worker Foreman

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of working experience is required.
• Mandatory: Previous experience in a ceramic company or ceramic manufacturing environment.
• Candidates must be a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in Others or similar fields.
• A high school diploma, degree related to the ceramic field, or related vocational course is acceptable or advantageous.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience in ceramic tile glazing line operations.
• Knowledge of base glaze, printing paste, engobe, fixative, and other glazing application materials.
• Ability to monitor material properties and ensure they remain within specified standard ranges.
• Knowledge of tile quality requirements, including punch type, tile thickness, and tile temperature.
• Ability to conduct hourly line sampling and validate samples against approved standard tiles.
• Ability to identify quality deviations and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
• Knowledge of glazing line machinery, equipment cleaning, basic troubleshooting, and operating conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistent product quality.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to maintain accurate inspection, sampling, and production records.
• Good leadership and coordination skills appropriate for a foreman position.
• Ability to work effectively with Production, Quality Control, Maintenance, and other departments.
• Knowledge of workplace safety, chemical handling, and proper housekeeping practices.
• Good English communication skills.
• Responsible, organized, disciplined, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced ceramic production environment.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor the properties of base glaze, printing paste, engobe, fixative, and other glazing application materials during the tile glazing process.
• Ensure that all glazing materials remain within the specified standard ranges and production requirements.
• Check material properties and identify deviations that may affect tile appearance, quality, or performance.
• Prearrange and prepare the required glazing application materials before production starts.
• Ensure that glazing materials, machinery, tools, and other required resources are available and ready for production.
• Monitor the glazing line to ensure smooth and consistent application of glaze and related materials.
• Monitor the quality of tiles supplied by the pressing section before and during the glazing process.
• Check tiles for required punch type, tile thickness, and tile temperature according to established production standards.
• Identify tiles that do not meet specified requirements and coordinate appropriate corrective action.
• Ensure proper operation and performance of glazing line machinery and equipment.
• Conduct routine checks of glazing line machines and report abnormalities or equipment issues promptly.
• Ensure that all glazing line machines and assigned equipment are kept clean and in proper working condition.
• Coordinate with maintenance personnel regarding machine breakdowns, repairs, adjustments, and preventive maintenance requirements.
• Conduct line sampling every hour in accordance with established quality-control procedures.
• Validate hourly samples against approved standard tiles and established quality specifications.
• Compare sample results with required standards and identify deviations in glaze application, color, surface appearance, thickness, or other characteristics.
• Initiate or recommend appropriate corrective actions when sample results do not meet established standards.
• Maintain accurate records of line samples, inspection results, corrective actions, and production-related observations.
• Monitor glazing line conditions to maintain consistent product quality throughout the production shift.
• Coordinate with Quality Control and Production teams regarding tile quality issues and process deviations.
• Assist in identifying the causes of recurring glazing defects and recommend appropriate process adjustments.
• Ensure compliance with production procedures, quality standards, safety requirements, and workplace housekeeping rules.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the glazing line and surrounding work areas.
• Ensure glazing materials and chemicals are properly handled, stored, and used according to established procedures.
• Guide and support glazing line workers in following approved operating, quality, safety, and housekeeping procedures.
• Monitor work activities and ensure that production personnel follow established instructions and standards.
• Assist supervisors and management in meeting production quantity and quality targets.
• Perform other ceramic glazing, quality control, supervisory, and production-related duties assigned by management.
