Solar Installation Engineer

Qualifications:

• Applicants must be not more than 40 years old.
• Must have 3–5 years of relevant work experience in solar PV installation or a related engineering field.
• Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
• Must hold a valid professional license, if applicable to the position and country of practice.
• Must have a strong understanding of solar photovoltaic systems, electrical installations, and renewable energy technologies.
• Must be knowledgeable in solar panel mounting, inverter installation, DC and AC wiring, grounding, and electrical protection systems.
• Must be able to read and interpret electrical drawings, installation plans, technical specifications, and wiring diagrams.
• Must understand electrical safety procedures, applicable codes, and quality standards for solar PV installations.
• Must have good troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Must be physically fit to perform installation work, including working at heights when required, while following appropriate safety procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and perform the installation of solar photovoltaic systems in accordance with approved designs, project specifications, and safety standards.
• Install and secure solar panels, mounting structures, inverters, batteries, and other system components as required.
• Perform DC and AC electrical wiring, cable routing, conduit installation, grounding, and connections for solar PV systems.
• Inspect installation sites and verify that mounting locations, electrical connections, and equipment arrangements meet project requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers, design engineers, electricians, and installation technicians to ensure timely and accurate project completion.
• Conduct inspections and quality checks on installed equipment, wiring, mounting structures, and electrical protection devices.
• Perform system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting to verify proper operation and performance.
• Identify installation defects, electrical faults, and equipment problems and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, occupational safety requirements, and company quality procedures.
• Prepare installation reports, inspection records, testing results, and other required technical documentation.
• Monitor tools, materials, and equipment used during installation and ensure proper handling and storage.
• Provide technical guidance to installation teams and assist in resolving site-related engineering issues.
• Support preventive maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of installed solar PV systems when required.
