Quantity Surveyor

Qualifications:

• Male and female applicants are welcome.
• Applicants must be not more than 40 years old.
• Must have 3–5 years of relevant work experience in quantity surveying, construction cost estimation, or a related field.
• Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
• Must hold a valid professional license, if applicable to the position and country of practice.
• Must have a strong understanding of construction methods, materials, project costs, and contract administration.
• Must be knowledgeable in preparing bills of quantities (BOQ), cost estimates, material take-offs, and progress payment evaluations.
• Must be able to read and interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with quantity surveying software and computer-aided design (CAD) applications.
• Must have good analytical, mathematical, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks while meeting project deadlines.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate quantity take-offs, bills of quantities (BOQ), cost estimates, and material estimates based on project drawings and specifications.
• Review architectural, structural, civil, and other construction drawings to determine project quantities and requirements.
• Monitor construction costs, budgets, material usage, and project expenditures.
• Prepare and evaluate progress payment applications, interim valuations, and payment certificates.
• Assist in preparing tender documents, cost proposals, bid evaluations, and contract documentation.
• Obtain and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to support cost-effective procurement.
• Evaluate variations, change orders, and additional work requests and determine their cost implications.
• Conduct site visits and coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and suppliers to verify quantities and project progress.
• Maintain records of project costs, measurements, contracts, payments, and financial reports.
• Identify potential cost overruns and recommend measures to improve cost control and project efficiency.
• Assist in reviewing subcontractor claims, invoices, and payment requests for accuracy and compliance with contract terms.
• Ensure that quantity surveying activities follow project specifications, contractual requirements, and applicable company procedures.
