Solar Installation Technician

Qualifications:

• Applicants must be not more than 40 years old.
• Must have 3–5 years of relevant work experience in solar PV installation, electrical installation, or a related technical field.
• Must possess a relevant technical diploma, vocational certificate, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Technology, Renewable Energy Technology, or a related field.
• Must hold a valid professional license or technical certification, if applicable to the position.
• Must have practical knowledge of solar photovoltaic panels, inverters, mounting structures, batteries, and related electrical components.
• Must be familiar with DC and AC wiring, cable connections, grounding, and electrical protection devices.
• Must be able to read and follow electrical diagrams, installation drawings, and technical instructions.
• Must understand electrical safety procedures and proper use of tools and equipment.
• Must have good troubleshooting, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
• Must be physically fit to perform installation tasks, including working at heights when required, while observing safety requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Install solar panels, mounting structures, inverters, batteries, and other components according to approved plans and technical specifications.
• Perform DC and AC wiring, cable routing, electrical connections, grounding, and installation of protective devices.
• Assemble and secure solar panel mounting systems on rooftops, ground-mounted structures, or other designated locations.
• Assist in inspecting installation sites and preparing tools, materials, and equipment before work begins.
• Check solar panels, cables, connectors, inverters, and other components for damage or installation defects.
• Conduct basic electrical tests and assist with system commissioning to ensure proper operation.
• Identify and troubleshoot installation problems, loose connections, wiring faults, and equipment malfunctions.
• Follow electrical codes, company procedures, and occupational health and safety requirements throughout installation work.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and ensure proper storage after use.
• Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, electricians, and other technicians to complete installation activities on schedule.
• Assist in preparing installation reports, inspection records, and maintenance documentation.
• Perform repairs, replacements, and preventive maintenance on solar PV systems as assigned.
