Pastry Chef

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of working experience is required.
• No minimum educational attainment is required for this position.
• Proven experience in pastry production, baking, and dessert preparation in restaurants, hotels, bakeries, or similar establishments.
• Experience preparing Japanese desserts and pastries is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques, dessert presentation, and pastry decoration.
• Ability to create and develop new dessert concepts and seasonal menu items.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen hygiene standards.
• Strong creativity, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and present Japanese desserts and pastries such as mochi, dorayaki, matcha cakes, cheesecakes, parfaits, puddings, and seasonal specialty desserts.
• Bake, assemble, and decorate cakes, pastries, breads, and confectionery products according to established recipes and standards.
• Create visually appealing dessert presentations using icings, glazes, toppings, and decorative techniques.
• Develop new dessert items and contribute ideas for seasonal and specialty menu offerings.
• Ensure consistency, quality, taste, and presentation of all pastry and dessert products.
• Inspect and evaluate raw ingredients to ensure freshness and quality standards are met.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering pastry ingredients and supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper food storage within the pastry section.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and health regulations at all times.
• Minimize waste and ensure efficient utilization of ingredients and resources.
• Collaborate with kitchen management and culinary teams to support overall restaurant operations.
• Train and assist junior pastry staff when required and maintain high professional kitchen standards.
