Aureol Global Connections is seeking an experienced and technically skilled HGV Mechanic to perform vehicle inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work in the United Kingdom. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining heavy goods vehicles in safe and reliable operating condition while accurately documenting completed maintenance and repair activities.
HGV MECHANIC
Qualifications:
- Maximum age 54 years old.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience.
- Previous experience working in an HGV workshop.
- Strong understanding of vehicle inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Good knowledge of heavy goods vehicle mechanical systems and components.
- Excellent attention to detail, particularly when completing paperwork and maintenance records.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a workshop team.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on mechanical work.
- Safety-conscious and committed to maintaining high-quality repair standards.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect HGV vehicles to identify mechanical defects, wear, damage, and maintenance requirements.
- Perform routine servicing and preventive maintenance on heavy goods vehicles.
- Diagnose mechanical and technical faults and determine appropriate repair procedures.
- Carry out repairs and replacement of defective or worn vehicle components.
- Maintain and repair vehicle systems and components according to manufacturer and workshop standards.
- Conduct safety and condition inspections before and after maintenance work.
- Test repaired vehicles and components to ensure they are operating correctly.
- Use appropriate mechanical tools, diagnostic equipment, and workshop machinery safely.
- Follow vehicle maintenance schedules and workshop procedures.
- Maintain accurate paperwork, inspection reports, job cards, and service records.
- Record completed repairs, parts used, and other relevant maintenance information.
- Report major mechanical problems and additional repair requirements to the appropriate supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.
- Follow company health and safety procedures and applicable vehicle maintenance standards.
- Coordinate with workshop controllers, technicians, and other personnel to complete repair work efficiently.
- Perform other HGV maintenance and mechanical duties as assigned.
