A Canadian employer is seeking skilled and experienced Welders to join its workforce in Canada. The successful candidates will be responsible for performing high-quality welding and fabrication work using GMAW, SMAW, FCAW, and GTAW processes. Applicants should have substantial hands-on welding experience, the ability to follow technical specifications, and a strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
WELDER
Qualifications:
- Male/Female, 23 to 45 years old.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant welding experience, covering GMAW, SMAW, FCAW, and GTAW, from 2016 to present.
- Completion of Post-Secondary Education is an advantage.
- Strong hands-on experience in multiple welding processes and applications.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, blueprints, welding procedures, and specifications.
- Good knowledge of welding equipment, tools, consumables, and safe welding practices.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fabrication, construction, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
- Physically fit and capable of performing welding duties for extended periods.
- Good teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Training Certificates related to welding or technical work.
- Work credentials must be supported by government documents linked to employment, such as SSS, Pag-IBIG, and PhilHealth records for local employment and/or an Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) for applicants with overseas work experience.
- Driver’s License is an advantage.
Responsibilities:
- Perform welding and fabrication work using GMAW, SMAW, FCAW, and GTAW processes.
- Read and interpret welding procedures, technical drawings, blueprints, measurements, and specifications.
- Prepare metals and workpieces by cleaning, cutting, grinding, fitting, and positioning materials before welding.
- Select and set up appropriate welding machines, equipment, electrodes, wires, gases, and other consumables.
- Perform welding according to approved procedures, specifications, and required quality standards.
- Produce strong, accurate, and consistent welds on different types of metal and components.
- Perform tack welding, fillet welding, groove welding, and other required welding applications.
- Check welds and finished work for cracks, porosity, distortion, incomplete fusion, and other defects.
- Grind, clean, polish, and finish welded surfaces as required.
- Measure and verify completed work to ensure proper dimensions, alignment, and fit.
- Operate welding machines, cutting equipment, grinders, power tools, and other fabrication tools safely.
- Conduct routine checks of welding equipment and report defective or unsafe equipment to supervisors.
- Maintain proper welding settings and adjust equipment according to material thickness and welding requirements.
- Follow workplace safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe welding and fabrication work area.
- Properly handle welding gases, electrodes, wires, metals, tools, and other materials.
- Coordinate with fabricators, fitters, mechanics, supervisors, and other workers to complete projects efficiently.
- Follow production schedules and complete assigned welding work within required timelines.
- Perform repairs, modifications, and corrective welding work when required.
- Maintain quality, production, and safety standards throughout all welding operations.
- Perform other welding and fabrication duties assigned by management.
