Fruits and Vegetable Salesman

Qualifications:

• Age: 21–35 years old.
• Previous experience in fresh produce sales, supermarket, hypermarket, grocery, market, or related retail work is an advantage.
• Knowledge of common fruits and vegetables and basic fresh produce handling procedures.
  Ability to identify freshness, quality, ripeness, damage, and spoilage.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Friendly, approachable, and able to assist customers professionally.
• Ability to arrange and maintain attractive product displays.
• Basic knowledge of weighing, packaging, labeling, and stock rotation procedures.
• Physically fit and capable of standing, walking, lifting, and handling fresh produce for extended periods.
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced supermarket or hypermarket environment.
• Good teamwork, organization, attention to detail, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities:

• Assist customers in selecting fruits and vegetables based on their needs and preferences.
• Provide customers with accurate information about available fresh produce, prices, promotions, and product quality.
• Receive, inspect, sort, and arrange incoming fruits and vegetables.
• Check fresh produce for freshness, quality, ripeness, damage, spoilage, and appearance.
• Remove damaged, overripe, or spoiled fruits and vegetables from displays.
• Clean, trim, sort, grade, and prepare fresh produce for retail display when required.
• Arrange fruits and vegetables neatly and attractively according to company display standards.
• Replenish produce displays regularly to maintain adequate stock and an appealing presentation.
• Rotate products using proper stock rotation procedures to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
• Weigh and package fruits and vegetables accurately according to customer requirements and store procedures.
• Operate weighing scales and other fresh produce equipment safely and correctly.
• Assist customers with special orders, product selection, and other fresh produce requests.
• Monitor inventory levels and report low stock, damaged products, and quality concerns to supervisors.
• Assist with receiving, unloading, and properly storing fresh produce deliveries.
• Maintain appropriate storage conditions for different types of fruits and vegetables.
• Ensure fresh produce areas, shelves, displays, weighing stations, and storage areas remain clean and organized.
• Follow proper food handling, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Minimize product waste through proper handling, sorting, storage, and stock rotation.
• Maintain attractive displays throughout operating hours and respond promptly to customer needs.
• Coordinate with supervisors, warehouse personnel, cashiers, and other sales staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist in monitoring daily sales and product availability when required.
• Handle customer concerns and complaints professionally and refer complex matters to supervisors.
• Maintain a professional appearance and courteous attitude when dealing with customers.
• Perform other fresh produce sales and department duties assigned by management.
