FARM SUPERVISOR (LIVESTOCKS)
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant working experience in livestock farming or farm supervision.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture or a related field.
- Must possess a valid NC II certification as required by the employer.
- Strong knowledge of livestock production, breeding, nutrition, animal health, and farm management practices.
- Experience supervising farm workers and coordinating daily farm operations.
- Ability to maintain accurate farm records and prepare operational reports.
- Knowledge of farm equipment operation, maintenance, and safety procedures.
- Good leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Physically fit and willing to work in an agricultural environment.
- Willing to work in Guyana and comply with company policies and applicable agricultural regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily care and management of livestock, including feeding, watering, breeding, housing, and overall animal welfare.
- Monitor the health and condition of livestock and promptly report illnesses, injuries, or abnormal behavior to the Farm Manager or Veterinarian.
- Supervise, train, and assign daily tasks to farm workers to ensure efficient and productive farm operations.
- Maintain accurate records of livestock inventory, breeding activities, feed consumption, vaccinations, health treatments, mortality, and production performance.
- Monitor feed inventory and ensure the proper storage, handling, and distribution of feed supplies.
- Inspect farm facilities, equipment, and machinery to ensure they are properly maintained and in good working condition.
- Implement and enforce farm biosecurity, sanitation, occupational safety, and animal welfare practices.
- Coordinate breeding, vaccination, and disease prevention programs in consultation with veterinarians and farm management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, agricultural regulations, and industry best practices.
- Prepare reports on livestock performance, operational activities, and resource requirements for management.
- Assist in improving farm productivity and operational efficiency through effective supervision and resource management.
- Perform other related duties assigned by farm management.
