Santa Fe Farm is looking for hardworking and reliable General Farm Workers to support daily farming operations in Guyana. The successful candidates will assist with crop production, livestock care, farm maintenance, and the operation of basic farm equipment while ensuring productivity, cleanliness, and compliance with farm safety standards.

General Farm Worker

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant working experience in general farming.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture or a related field.
• Experience in fruit production, livestock management, or both is required.
• Knowledge of basic farming practices, crop cultivation, animal care, and farm maintenance.
• Ability to operate basic farm tools, equipment, and machinery safely.
• Physically fit and capable of performing manual labor in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
• Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to follow safety procedures, farm regulations, and management instructions.
• Good communication, reliability, and time management skills.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with daily farm activities, including land preparation, planting, cultivating, harvesting, and maintaining fruit crops.
• Feed, water, monitor, and provide general care for livestock, including cattle and sheep, while ensuring proper animal welfare.
• Operate and perform basic maintenance on farm tools, equipment, and machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
• Carry out general farm maintenance, including fencing, cleaning, minor repairs, and upkeep of farm buildings and facilities.
• Assist with irrigation, weed control, pest management, fertilization, and other crop production activities.
• Load, unload, transport, and properly store farm produce, animal feed, equipment, and other farm supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of work areas, livestock facilities, storage areas, and equipment.
• Follow all farm safety procedures, biosecurity measures, and instructions from supervisors and farm management.
• Report equipment malfunctions, crop issues, livestock health concerns, or other operational problems to the supervisor.
• Support other farm operations as required to ensure efficient daily production and farm productivity.
• Perform other related duties assigned by farm management.
