Job Talent is seeking an experienced and technically skilled Maintenance Technician to support operations in a fully automated warehouse environment in Belgium. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining automated warehouse and logistics systems to ensure reliable operation and minimize equipment downtime. The role requires strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, a proactive approach to fault detection, and the ability to work effectively with internal teams, external service providers, and management.
Maintenance Technician (Fully Automated Warehouse)
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in automated warehousing or transport logistics.
- Technical diploma in Electromechanics, Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Proven experience performing daily equipment inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
- Knowledge of PLC systems is a major advantage.
- Experience with automated warehouse, material-handling, conveyor, or logistics systems is highly desirable.
- Proactive approach to identifying system bottlenecks, operational faults, and potential equipment failures.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Ability to work safely at heights and hold the required certification, or be willing to obtain the necessary certification.
- Excellent communication skills for effective shift handovers and coordination with maintenance teams.
- Ability to communicate professionally with external partners, contractors, and equipment vendors.
- Ability to present maintenance concerns and equipment optimization ideas clearly to the Maintenance Manager.
- Strong understanding of preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, equipment reliability, and downtime reduction.
- Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a technical maintenance team.
- Safety-conscious, proactive, reliable, and capable of working in a high-tech and fast-paced automated environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily inspections of automated warehouse machinery, equipment, conveyors, and mechanical systems.
- Carry out preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities to maintain equipment reliability.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults in automated warehouse and transport logistics systems.
- Identify the root causes of equipment failures and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Repair or replace defective mechanical components, equipment, and system parts.
- Monitor automated systems for abnormal operation, faults, bottlenecks, and potential failures.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and minimize operational downtime.
- Support the maintenance and reliable operation of automated material-handling and logistics equipment.
- Use technical manuals, equipment documentation, diagrams, and diagnostic information when troubleshooting.
- Work with PLC-based systems to identify and resolve faults where applicable.
- Monitor system performance and identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Proactively identify system bottlenecks and recurring technical problems.
- Analyze operational faults and recommend practical solutions to the Maintenance Manager.
- Participate in maintenance improvement projects and the implementation of optimization initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, preventive maintenance, equipment faults, and corrective actions.
- Conduct proper shift handovers and communicate outstanding maintenance issues clearly to incoming technicians.
- Coordinate with external maintenance partners, contractors, suppliers, and equipment vendors when required.
- Assist external partners and vendors during equipment servicing, repairs, inspections, and technical interventions.
- Ensure maintenance activities are performed safely and according to established procedures.
- Work safely at heights when required and use appropriate fall-protection and safety equipment.
- Maintain tools, spare parts, equipment, and maintenance work areas in an organized condition.
- Follow workplace health and safety requirements and company maintenance procedures.
- Communicate technical issues, recurring faults, and optimization ideas clearly to the Maintenance Manager.
- Perform other industrial maintenance and technical duties as assigned by management.
