FARM SUPERVISOR (CROPS)
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant working experience in crop farming, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture or a related field.
- Must possess a valid NC II certification as required by the employer.
- Strong knowledge of crop production, irrigation systems, soil management, pest and disease control, and harvesting techniques.
- Experience supervising farm workers and managing daily agricultural operations.
- Ability to identify crop diseases, pests, weeds, and recommend effective corrective measures.
- Good leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to agricultural operations.
- Physically fit and willing to work outdoors under varying weather conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily crop production activities, including land preparation, planting, irrigation, fertilization, pest and weed control, and harvesting.
- Monitor crop growth and development to ensure healthy crops and high-quality yields.
- Conduct regular field inspections to identify crop diseases, pest infestations, weed problems, nutrient deficiencies, or other production issues, and recommend or implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Assign, supervise, and evaluate the daily work of farm workers to ensure tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and according to production schedules.
- Develop and implement work schedules to achieve production targets and maximize operational efficiency.
- Ensure proper application of fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and irrigation practices in accordance with agricultural standards and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of crop production activities, field operations, input usage, harvest yields, and labor utilization.
- Monitor and maintain farm equipment, tools, and irrigation systems to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Train and guide farm workers on proper farming techniques, equipment operation, workplace safety, and environmental protection practices.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, occupational health and safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Prepare operational reports and provide recommendations to improve crop productivity and farm performance.
- Perform other related duties assigned by farm management.
