Dumpling Chef

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of working experience is required.
• No minimum educational attainment is required for this position.
• Experience in dumpling preparation, Asian cuisine, or a similar culinary specialty is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of dough preparation, filling composition, and dumpling-making techniques.
• Proficiency in various cooking methods including steaming, boiling, pan-frying, and deep-frying.
• Ability to maintain consistency in taste, texture, appearance, and portion sizes.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen hygiene standards.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to culinary excellence.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook a variety of dumplings and related Asian cuisine dishes according to restaurant recipes and standards.
• Create and prepare dough, fillings, sauces, and accompaniments for dumpling production.
• Assemble dumplings with precision to ensure consistency in size, appearance, and quality.
• Utilize appropriate cooking methods such as steaming, boiling, pan-frying, and other techniques as required.
• Monitor the freshness, flavor, texture, and quality of ingredients used in food preparation.
• Ensure consistency in taste and presentation across every batch of products.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation and food preparation areas.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and health regulations at all times.
• Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and report replenishment needs to supervisors.
• Minimize food waste through proper preparation, storage, and inventory management practices.
• Assist in developing new dumpling varieties and menu offerings when required.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and timely service.
