WELDER I

Qualifications:

• Minimum 0–2 years of experience in welding, manufacturing, aerospace, or engineering industries
• Ability to read and comprehend electrical and mechanical drawings
• Ability to read and understand weld symbols
• Capable of performing welding processes according to specified requirements
• Willing and able to work in a cleanroom environment, including wearing jumpsuits, safety helmets, and safety shoes
• Willing to commit to assigned shift patterns and overtime when required
• Certificate Level 3 or Diploma in Welding Technology from an MQA-certified institute
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Proficient in using metrology instruments, including:
  • Vernier Caliper
  • Height Gauge
  • Micrometer
  • Steel Ruler and other measuring tools

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily inspection of welding equipment, machines, weld heads, torches, gas piping, and work areas to ensure compliance with UCTM standards
• Ensure 6S requirements are met daily before the start and at the end of each shift
• Set up welding equipment, including selection of appropriate welding methods, machine settings, and consumables
• Create weld coupons daily prior to the start of production
• Execute work orders according to priorities set by the Production Planner
• Ensure all kitted components, including bent tubes, are prepared and in accordance with production drawings
• Validate that all kitted components are in good condition before commencing work
• Perform welding in accordance with drawing requirements, including:
  • Type of joint
  • Weld bead size (if applicable)
  • Start and end points
  • Overlap length (if applicable)
• Verify welded assemblies meet quality standards by:
  • Checking welding appearance (no discoloration on outer and inner surfaces)
  • Inspecting weld beads for abnormalities and cross-checking with daily weld coupons
  • Performing random checks on weld penetration using borescope or glass method
  • Ensuring all required product dimensions are achieved
  • Start and stop all work orders in the SAP system in real time
  • Report any abnormalities, defects, or safety issues to the team lead or supervisor promptly
