REFRIGERATION TECHNICIAN

Qualifications:

• Minimum of three (3) years of working experience as a Refrigeration Technician or in a related field.
• Candidates must possess a Vocational Diploma or Short Course Certificate in a related field.
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, air conditioning units, cold storage equipment, and HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and electronic components related to refrigeration systems.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot refrigeration and HVAC equipment problems.
• Familiarity with refrigerant handling procedures and environmental regulations.
• Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
• Physically fit and capable of working in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying weather conditions.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.

Responsibilities:

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults in refrigeration equipment and perform necessary repairs.
• Conduct preventive maintenance activities to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize system downtime.
• Inspect refrigeration units, cold storage equipment, and HVAC systems for operational efficiency.
• Check refrigerant levels and recharge refrigerants in accordance with environmental and safety regulations.
• Test and calibrate system components, controls, and safety devices.
• Replace defective parts such as compressors, motors, condensers, evaporators, thermostats, and control components.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications.
• Maintain accurate service reports, maintenance records, and inspection documentation.
• Ensure proper operation of cold storage equipment and temperature-controlled systems.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and comply with company policies and industry regulations.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams and supervisors to ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
