Aureol Global Connections is seeking an experienced Site Engineer with strong Overhead Lines (OHL) background to support transmission and distribution construction projects in the United Kingdom. The role involves planning, supervising, and ensuring safe and compliant execution of high-voltage overhead line works in accordance with UK industry standards.

Site Engineer (Overhead Lines Experience)

Qualifications:

• 2–5+ years of experience in Overhead Lines (OHL) construction
• Experience in tower erection and/or conductor stringing on DNO/TSO projects
• Working knowledge of BS EN 50341 standards and OHL construction practices
• Hands-on experience with sag-tension and stringing calculations and field measurements
• Strong background in lifting operations planning under LOLER regulations
• Familiarity with client procedures such as National Grid SR106/SR135
• Experience in preparing commissioning packs and as-built documentation
• Understanding of transmission and distribution systems and workforce competency standards
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate overhead line (OHL) construction activities including tower erection and conductor stringing
• Prepare and implement lift plans for tower sections, crossarms, and associated plant in compliance with LOLER regulations
• Conduct sag-tension calculations, field measurements, and verify stringing operations using approved methods
• Utilize and manage equipment such as travelers, sheaves, running boards, grips, and tensioners
• Ensure compliance with BS EN 50341 standards and client specifications (e.g., National Grid requirements)
• Monitor site safety, conduct inspections, and ensure all lifting operations are performed by competent personnel
• Prepare commissioning documentation, as-built drawings, and project evidence packs
• Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery
• Support mentoring and competency verification of site crews and apprentices
