Abdal Human Resources is seeking qualified and experienced Senior Mechanics (Power Station Unit) for an overseas work opportunity in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will perform mechanical maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of power generation units, diesel engines, motors, and related electromechanical equipment.
Senior Mechanic (Power Station Unit)
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Diploma in Engines & Vehicles Mechanics or a related field is required/preferred based on the supplied job information.
- No specific minimum educational attainment beyond the stated technical qualification is indicated.
- Male applicants are preferred.
- Knowledge of electromechanical systems.
- Knowledge and understanding of EHS instructions and workplace safety procedures.
- Experience in mechanical maintenance of power generation units, engines, motors, generators, or related equipment is an advantage.
- Ability to perform preventive, corrective, routine, and emergency mechanical maintenance.
- Knowledge of diesel engine and power generation equipment maintenance.
- Skilled in mechanical repair, welding, cutting, grinding, and basic lathe operations.
- Ability to inspect equipment and identify abnormal operating conditions.
- Knowledge of proper fuel and oil sampling procedures and equipment quality requirements.
- Ability to safely use mechanical tools, workshop equipment, and maintenance instruments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Physically fit and capable of performing mechanical maintenance duties in a power plant environment.
- Willing to follow company policies, EHS requirements, maintenance procedures, and supervisor instructions.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor electromechanical systems, power generation units, and power plant equipment to ensure operation within rated capacities.
- Observe operating conditions and identify abnormal equipment conditions that may require maintenance or corrective action.
- Inspect power generation units, machines, engines, motors, accessories, and related mechanical equipment.
- Identify required preventive and corrective maintenance activities and document them through appropriate Work Request forms.
- Perform routine, preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on power generation equipment and accessories.
- Maintain and troubleshoot diesel engines, generators, motors, and associated mechanical equipment.
- Assist with maintenance of generator electrical protection circuits and related electromechanical systems as required.
- Inspect mechanical components for wear, damage, leakage, overheating, vibration, or other abnormal conditions.
- Monitor engine rooms and mechanical equipment rooms to ensure environmental conditions meet required operating standards.
- Perform equipment checks before and after maintenance to verify safe and reliable operation.
- Evaluate and identify the tools and equipment required for power plant mechanical maintenance activities.
- Perform preventive maintenance on tools and workshop equipment to keep them in safe and ready-to-use condition.
- Carry out mechanical repairs, adjustments, component replacement, and equipment servicing.
- Perform welding, cutting, grinding, and lathe work to repair or recondition mechanical parts when required.
- Recondition suitable replaced parts for safe and approved reuse.
- Inspect repaired components before returning them to service.
- Take fuel and oil samples and coordinate or submit them for laboratory testing to verify compliance with required specifications.
- Monitor fuel and lubrication systems and report contamination, abnormal conditions, or quality concerns.
- Follow established maintenance schedules, technical procedures, equipment manuals, and work instructions.
- Observe Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) instructions and power plant safety procedures at all times.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during maintenance and workshop activities.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, work requests, and equipment documentation.
- Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, electricians, operators, and other maintenance personnel when performing repairs.
- Maintain good housekeeping in mechanical rooms, workshops, equipment areas, and work sites.
- Report equipment defects, unsafe conditions, and maintenance requirements to the direct supervisor.
- Perform other mechanical maintenance and technical duties assigned by the direct supervisor.
