Registered Midwife
Qualifications:
- Female applicants only.
- 23–45 years old.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience.
- Relevant healthcare/caregiving experience is required.
- Must meet the employer’s specific qualifications and experience requirements.
- Must have appropriate qualifications and registration as a Registered Midwife.
- Good knowledge of maternal, postpartum, and newborn care.
- Compassionate, patient, responsible, and professional when providing care.
- Good English communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledgeable in proper hygiene, infection control, patient safety, and healthcare procedures.
- Able to work responsibly and professionally in a home-care environment.
- Physically capable of performing routine maternal, newborn, and caregiving duties.
- Able to follow healthcare instructions, care plans, employer policies, and workplace procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Provide professional midwifery and healthcare support to women according to their individual needs and care plans.
- Assist with prenatal, maternity, postpartum, and newborn care as required.
- Monitor the health and general condition of pregnant and postpartum clients.
- Observe and document relevant changes in the client’s condition and promptly report concerns to the appropriate healthcare professional.
- Assist with routine maternal assessments and monitor vital signs as required.
- Provide appropriate support and guidance to mothers regarding pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum recovery, and newborn care.
- Assist mothers with breastfeeding, infant feeding, and basic newborn-care practices.
- Monitor newborns for changes in feeding, activity, temperature, or general condition and report concerns appropriately.
- Provide education to mothers and families regarding personal hygiene, nutrition, infant care, and postpartum health.
- Assist with prescribed care procedures and follow established healthcare instructions and protocols.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of patient care, observations, assessments, and other relevant information.
- Follow proper infection-control, hygiene, sanitation, and patient-safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for mothers and newborns.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to mothers and families throughout the care period.
- Respect patients’ privacy, dignity, confidentiality, cultural practices, and personal preferences.
- Communicate effectively with clients, family members, physicians, nurses, supervisors, and other healthcare personnel.
- Recognize potential health concerns and promptly escalate urgent or abnormal findings to the appropriate healthcare professional.
- Follow employer instructions, care plans, workplace policies, and applicable healthcare procedures.
- Provide caregiving assistance when required as part of the assigned home-care responsibilities.
- Perform other reasonable midwifery, maternal-care, newborn-care, and caregiving duties assigned by management.
