Balady Poultry Company is seeking a qualified Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Technician (HVAC) to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on refrigeration systems, cold rooms, chillers, and HVAC equipment, ensuring reliable operation, cold chain integrity, and compliance with food safety and industrial safety standards.

Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Technician (HVAC)

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of working experience in refrigeration and HVAC maintenance.
• Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate in a related technical field.
• Male applicants are preferred for this role.
• Essential experience in refrigeration and HVAC systems, preferably within food processing, poultry, cold storage, or cold chain facilities.
• Strong knowledge of Refrigeration cycles, HVAC systems, Cold room operations
• Preventive and corrective maintenance
• Ability to troubleshoot refrigeration, mechanical, and basic electrical faults.
• Experience using gauges, leak detectors, pressure testing equipment, and maintenance tools.
• Knowledge of food safety requirements and cold chain temperature monitoring.
• Familiarity with refrigerant handling and ammonia system awareness.
• Preferred certifications:
  • HVAC/Refrigeration Certifications
  • Ammonia Awareness Training
  • Industrial Safety Training

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on refrigeration systems, cold rooms, chillers, condensers, evaporators, and HVAC units.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults including temperature deviations, pressure issues, refrigerant leaks, and compressor trips.
• Inspect, repair, and maintain compressors, valves, filters, dryers, oil systems, fans, belts, and related equipment.
• Monitor refrigerant and ammonia system integrity and assist in leak detection, isolation, and repair activities.
• Maintain temperature records and ensure calibration of thermostats, sensors, and monitoring devices.
• Coordinate with Quality Assurance (QA) teams to ensure cold chain compliance.
• Clean coils, condensate systems, and drain lines to prevent icing and maintain efficient operation.
• Apply Permit-to-Work (PTW), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE requirements, and plant safety procedures.
• Support equipment commissioning, shutdowns, and startup activities.
• Coordinate with contractors and suppliers during major maintenance and repair works.
• Participate in emergency response activities related to refrigerant or ammonia incidents.
• Prepare maintenance reports and documentation as required.
• Perform other maintenance duties assigned by supervisors.
