Technical Office Engineer (Mechanical)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience as a Technical Office Engineer handling mechanical works in construction, industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting systems, piping, pumps, mechanical equipment, and installation methods.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and other mechanical engineering software.
- Familiarity with BOQ preparation, quantity take-offs, technical submittals, RFIs, and construction contracts.
- Good analytical, communication, planning, and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and coordinate mechanical shop drawings, construction drawings, and as-built drawings.
- Review mechanical designs, specifications, material submittals, and technical documentation for compliance with project requirements.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ), quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and material schedules for mechanical works.
- Coordinate with project managers, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and site engineers regarding mechanical engineering activities.
- Prepare Requests for Information (RFIs), method statements, technical reports, and material approval requests.
- Assist in project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and reporting for mechanical systems.
- Review engineering changes, project variations, and technical issues while providing practical engineering solutions.
- Coordinate procurement activities by reviewing technical specifications and mechanical equipment requirements.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, mechanical codes, quality standards, and health and safety regulations.
- Maintain document control by managing revisions, approvals, and distribution of engineering documents.
- Provide technical support during construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
- Perform other technical office and engineering duties assigned by management.
