TRUCK MECHANIC
Qualifications:
- Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Qualification or equivalent trade certification.
- Minimum of 5 years of workshop experience as a Truck Mechanic or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic.
- Basic auto-electrical experience.
- Experience working with European truck brands, preferably Volvo, Renault Trucks, Scania, Mercedes-Benz, MAN, DAF, or similar.
- Excellent safety record and commitment to safe work practices.
- Good spoken and written English communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, service, maintain, and repair heavy commercial trucks and related equipment.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and safety inspections.
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, braking systems, steering, suspension, and drivetrain components.
- Conduct basic auto-electrical diagnostics and repairs, including batteries, charging systems, lighting, wiring, sensors, and electronic controls.
- Use computerized diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical and electrical faults accurately.
- Repair or replace defective mechanical and electrical components according to manufacturer specifications.
- Perform post-repair testing and road testing to ensure vehicles are safe, reliable, and operating efficiently.
- Read and interpret workshop manuals, technical bulletins, wiring diagrams, and repair procedures.
- Complete service reports, maintenance records, inspection checklists, and repair documentation accurately.
- Maintain workshop tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
- Comply with workplace health and safety (WHS) policies, environmental regulations, and company quality standards.
- Perform other workshop duties assigned by the Workshop Supervisor or Service Manager.
