Chint Arabian Electric Industrial Co. is seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineer for an overseas work opportunity in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for mechanical design and engineering activities related to medium-voltage (MV) switchgear, ensuring designs meet technical, manufacturing, safety, and quality requirements.
MECHANICAL ENGINEER
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering course.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical design of medium-voltage switchgear.
- Strong understanding of medium-voltage switchgear construction.
- Knowledge of switchgear compartmentalization, interlocking systems, and mechanical systems.
- Proven hands-on experience with MV AIS (Air Insulated Switchgear) metal-clad switchgear is mandatory.
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D mechanical design software.
- Strong ability to interpret and prepare engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, and assembly requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering and production teams.
- Good communication and technical documentation skills.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for medium-voltage switchgear.
- Prepare and review detailed 2D and 3D mechanical designs and drawings.
- Develop mechanical layouts, assemblies, fabrication drawings, and production documentation.
- Ensure switchgear designs comply with applicable engineering specifications and project requirements.
- Apply knowledge of MV switchgear construction and compartmentalization in mechanical design activities.
- Design and review mechanical interlocking systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Analyze mechanical structures, components, clearances, and interfaces within switchgear assemblies.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers, production teams, manufacturing personnel, and quality engineers.
- Review designs for manufacturability, assembly, maintenance, and operational requirements.
- Identify and resolve mechanical design issues during product development and manufacturing.
- Modify and improve existing switchgear designs based on technical requirements and production feedback.
- Support prototype development, testing, and design verification activities.
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other engineering documentation.
- Ensure designs are accurate and suitable for manufacturing and assembly.
- Participate in troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of mechanical issues.
- Maintain proper engineering records and design revisions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for switchgear products and manufacturing processes.
- Perform other engineering duties assigned by management.
