Refractory Technician

Qualifications:

• Qualified and experienced in the installation, repair, and maintenance of refractory linings.
• Experience working on furnaces, heaters, stacks, and other high-temperature industrial equipment.
• Knowledge of refractory materials, installation techniques, and applicable industry standards.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Physically fit and capable of working in demanding industrial and construction environments.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Committed to workplace safety and industry best practices.

Responsibilities:

• Install, repair, replace, and maintain refractory linings for furnaces, heaters, stacks, kilns, and other high-temperature equipment.
• Prepare surfaces and install refractory bricks, castables, ceramic fibers, and other refractory materials.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and work instructions.
• Inspect refractory systems to identify wear, damage, or deterioration requiring repair or replacement.
• Perform demolition and removal of damaged refractory materials when required.
• Ensure all refractory work complies with project specifications, manufacturer recommendations, and industry standards.
• Use refractory installation tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly care for tools and equipment.
• Follow workplace health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times.
• Coordinate with supervisors and other trades to complete maintenance and construction activities efficiently.
