Quality Supervisor
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Food Technology / Food Science / Meat Science / Veterinary Science / Chemical Engineering / Biotechnology / Food Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the food industry, with at least 1 year in a senior or supervisory role in Quality.
- Experience in meat or poultry processing industry is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, food safety regulations, and quality systems.
- Experience in audit processes, risk assessment, and compliance management.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Quality Management & Compliance:
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety and quality standards across all manufacturing operations.
- Verify compliance with CCPs, oPRPs, QCPs, and other process parameters.
- Conduct risk assessments related to food safety, facility security, food fraud, and health & safety.
- Ensure proper implementation of GMP, HACCP, and internal quality systems.
- Coordination & Cross-Functional Support:
- Collaborate with Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, Procurement, R&D, and other departments to align quality initiatives.
- Communicate non-conformities and ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented.
- Provide technical support to plant-level Quality Control units.
- Monitoring, Audits & Continuous Improvement:
- Oversee inspections and monitoring activities carried out by the quality team.
- Investigate customer complaints, product issues, and deviations, ensuring proper corrective actions.
- Plan and execute traceability exercises, mock recalls, crisis management drills, and review outcomes.
- Identify opportunities for technology interventions to improve quality control systems.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement across operations.
- Team Leadership & Training:
- Supervise and support the quality team in daily operations and performance management.
- Prepare training plans and matrices, and conduct training sessions for staff.
- Mentor QA technicians and production personnel on quality and food safety practices.
- Develop duty schedules to ensure quality coverage throughout operational hours.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain and update quality records, reports, and documentation.
- Report discrepancies, errors, complaints, and adverse events requiring corrective actions.
- Assist in validating cleaning procedures, allergen controls, and sanitation records.
- Ensure vendor compliance through technical guidance, monitoring, and support.
