Savvana Constructions Limited is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee daily manufacturing operations for modular housing and precast concrete production in Papua New Guinea. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising production activities while ensuring productivity, quality, safety, and compliance with company standards and project requirements.
Production Supervisor
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years relevant working experience in manufacturing, construction, precast concrete production, or modular construction.
- Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Construction, Manufacturing, Building, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Experience managing production teams and contractors in manufacturing or construction environments.
- Strong knowledge of modular construction processes and precast concrete manufacturing.
- Experience working within quality-controlled manufacturing environments; experience in ISO-certified organizations is an advantage.
- Supervisory or Leadership Training is preferred.
- HSEQ or Integrated Management System (IMS) training is advantageous.
- Plant and Equipment Competency certifications are desirable.
- Strong skills in production planning, workforce supervision, quality assurance, materials management, productivity improvement, and health and safety compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, report writing, time management, and decision-making skills.
- Working knowledge of IMS and ISO standards is highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily production activities in accordance with approved production schedules and targets.
- Coordinate labor, equipment, and material resources to maximize productivity and operational efficiency.
- Monitor daily production output and ensure activities are completed within planned timeframes.
- Supervise modular housing assembly, fit-out works, and installation of structural, plumbing, electrical, and finishing components.
- Oversee precast concrete production, including mould preparation, reinforcement placement, concrete casting, curing, stripping, lifting, and storage.
- Ensure all products are manufactured in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Lead and supervise production personnel and contractors, conduct daily toolbox meetings, and provide coaching and on-the-job training.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the production team.
- Conduct routine quality inspections, identify non-conformances, and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Coordinate with the Plant Engineer to ensure production equipment availability and support preventive maintenance activities.
- Ensure safe operation of machinery and verify completion of daily pre-start inspections.
- Enforce compliance with Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) requirements, including hazard identification and proper use of PPE.
- Monitor material usage, minimize waste, and assist with inventory control and stock management.
- Prepare daily production reports, maintain accurate production records, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Report production issues, equipment defects, and opportunities for operational improvements to management.
- Support the achievement of production, quality, safety, and efficiency targets while ensuring timely project delivery.
