Mechanical Turbine Major Overhaul Engineer
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5โ7 years of hands-on experience in steam turbine overhaul, inspection, and mechanical supervision.
- Must have completed at least two (2) steam turbine major overhauls.
- Strong knowledge of steam turbine systems, thermodynamics, materials behavior, and rotating equipment fundamentals.
- Ability to interpret and produce engineering drawings, inspection sheets, and OEM-standard documentation.
- Strong technical knowledge of turbine components, mechanical inspection, alignment, clearances, and overhaul procedures.
- Strong diagnostic, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and technical accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in English is required.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality standards, and procedural compliance.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and technically demanding environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise mechanical activities during steam turbine major overhauls.
- Plan and coordinate turbine overhaul activities in accordance with approved schedules, procedures, and technical requirements.
- Conduct and supervise inspection, dismantling, assembly, alignment, and maintenance of steam turbine components.
- Inspect turbine components and identify wear, damage, deformation, or other conditions requiring repair or replacement.
- Ensure overhaul activities are performed according to OEM standards, engineering specifications, and approved procedures.
- Review engineering drawings, inspection sheets, technical specifications, and OEM documentation.
- Monitor dimensional measurements, clearances, alignment, tolerances, and mechanical conditions of turbine components.
- Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, inspection, electrical, instrumentation, and other multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support for mechanical turbine-related issues.
- Analyze inspection findings and recommend appropriate corrective or preventive actions.
- Ensure proper documentation of inspection results, measurements, repairs, and overhaul activities.
- Monitor work quality and verify that completed activities meet required technical and engineering standards.
- Ensure proper handling, protection, storage, and installation of turbine components during overhaul.
- Support testing, commissioning, and post-overhaul activities as required.
- Identify potential technical risks and resolve mechanical issues in a timely and technically accurate manner.
- Ensure strict compliance with site safety procedures, work permits, and applicable maintenance standards.
- Participate in technical meetings and provide updates on overhaul progress, findings, and outstanding issues.
- Coordinate with OEM representatives, contractors, supervisors, and other technical personnel when required.
- Maintain accurate technical records and prepare reports related to overhaul activities.
- Perform other engineering, inspection, supervision, and turbine overhaul duties assigned by management.
