Senior Mechanic (Power Plant Section)
Qualifications:
- Relevant experience in industrial mechanical maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment used in power plants or heavy industrial facilities.
- Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial machinery.
- Familiarity with preventive and corrective maintenance procedures.
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and technical specifications.
- Experience coordinating maintenance tasks and guiding junior mechanics or technicians.
- Knowledge of industrial safety procedures and safe maintenance practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively with operations and maintenance teams.
- Experience in a cement factory or power plant environment is an advantage.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and perform mechanical maintenance, inspection, and repair of power plant equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and implement appropriate corrective actions to minimize equipment downtime.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on pumps, motors, compressors, fans, gearboxes, bearings, and other mechanical equipment, as applicable.
- Inspect mechanical components for wear, vibration, overheating, leakage, and other signs of malfunction.
- Assist in equipment overhauls, component replacement, alignment, and installation activities.
- Coordinate with electrical, instrumentation, and operations personnel to resolve equipment problems.
- Review maintenance schedules and ensure that assigned tasks are completed according to operational priorities.
- Ensure that maintenance work complies with plant procedures, technical specifications, and workplace safety standards.
- Monitor the condition of mechanical equipment and recommend repairs or replacements when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspection findings, and equipment repair history.
- Guide and support maintenance technicians and mechanics in completing assigned tasks.
- Follow applicable lockout/tagout procedures and other safety requirements when working on industrial equipment.
