Stellar Recruitment (NZ) Limited is seeking highly skilled MIG Welders to join structural steel fabrication and installation projects across New Zealand. This opportunity is ideal for experienced welders with expertise in heavy structural steel fabrication and overseas construction projects.

MIG WELDER

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of total welding experience.
• At least 3 years of overseas work experience as a welder.
• Proven experience in MIG and SMAW (Arc) welding.
• Strong background in structural steel fabrication, particularly in heavy structural steel, commercial buildings, industrial plants, bridges, and seismic projects.
• Experience in both site installation and workshop fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret structural steel drawings, fabrication plans, and welding specifications.
• Skilled in operating structural steel fabrication equipment, including steel cutting saws, drilling machines, hydraulic punches, plate rollers, press brakes, and gantry cranes.
• 45 years old or below.
• Good English communication skills.
• Willing and able to complete the IELTS examination and obtain a minimum Overall Band Score of 4.0.
• Must have complete and verifiable employment documents.

Responsibilities:

• Perform high-quality MIG (GMAW) and SMAW (Arc) welding in accordance with approved welding procedures, project specifications, and industry standards.
• Fabricate and assemble heavy structural steel components for commercial buildings, industrial plants, bridges, and seismic construction projects.
• Carry out welding, fitting, and fabrication work in both workshop and on-site installation environments.
• Read and interpret structural steel drawings, fabrication plans, welding symbols, and technical specifications.
• Operate structural steel fabrication equipment, including steel cutting saws, drilling machines, hydraulic punches, plate rollers, press brakes, and gantry cranes.
• Prepare steel materials by measuring, cutting, fitting, aligning, and cleaning prior to welding.
• Inspect completed welds to ensure compliance with quality standards and project requirements.
• Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
• Follow all workplace health and safety regulations and use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Coordinate with supervisors, fabricators, and installation teams to ensure timely completion of assigned work.

• Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC).
