Sami Investments is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Officer – Non CPA to join its team in Fiji. This opportunity is ideal for accounting professionals with at least three years of relevant experience and practical knowledge of payroll, account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, cashbook management, job costing, and MYOB accounting software.
ACCOUNTING OFFICER – NON CPA
Qualifications:
- Male or Female, below 40 years old, based on the employer’s stated vacancy requirement.
- Non-CPA accounting professional.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as an Accounting Officer.
- Practical experience in payroll, supplier account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, cashbook registry, job costing, MYOB, and miscellaneous accounting functions.
- Proficient in using MYOB accounting software.
- Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles, financial recordkeeping, and reconciliation procedures.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and numerical skills.
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Reliable, responsible, and capable of handling confidential financial information.
- Able to work independently and efficiently while meeting accounting deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process payroll accurately and on schedule, ensuring proper recording of employee payments and related deductions.
- Reconcile supplier accounts and verify invoices, payments, balances, and outstanding amounts.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies between bank records and accounting records.
- Maintain and update the cashbook registry, ensuring all cash receipts and payments are properly recorded.
- Assist with job costing, including monitoring project expenses, labor costs, materials, and other related costs.
- Record and maintain accurate financial transactions using MYOB accounting software.
- Prepare, review, and maintain accounting records, reports, schedules, and supporting documents.
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions and ensure proper documentation and recording.
- Monitor outstanding accounts and assist with follow-up of payments and account discrepancies.
- Verify financial documents, invoices, receipts, payment records, and other accounting supporting documents.
- Assist with monthly and periodic financial reporting and account closing activities.
- Maintain organized and accurate accounting files and records for audit and management purposes.
- Assist in identifying accounting discrepancies and resolving errors or inconsistencies in financial records.
- Handle miscellaneous accounting and administrative duties as required.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information and company records.
- Perform other accounting duties assigned by management.
