Steel Erector

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of relevant work experience as a Steel Erector or in structural steel installation.
• No minimum educational attainment is required for this position.
• Technical knowledge of rigging practices, basic welding, blueprint reading, and crane signaling.
• Ability to position, align, and secure heavy steel structures.
• Good physical strength and stamina to perform demanding construction and industrial work.
• Ability to work safely at heights and in remote mining environments.
• Strong awareness of fall protection, lifting protocols, and emergency procedures.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with crane operators, riggers, welders, and other site personnel.

Responsibilities:

• Erect and install steel frameworks for mining plants, conveyors, crushers, and industrial support structures.
• Position, align, and secure steel beams, girders, columns, and other structural components.
• Use rigging equipment, alignment tools, and appropriate lifting accessories during steel erection.
• Coordinate with riggers and crane operators to safely lift, move, and position heavy steel members.
• Communicate lifting instructions using standard hand signals or radios.
• Bolt, fasten, or assist in welding steel components according to engineering specifications.
• Perform tack welding and assist certified welders during structural assembly, as required.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and structural layouts.
• Inspect installed components for proper alignment, positioning, and secure connections.
• Follow fall-protection requirements, lifting procedures, and site safety regulations.
• Maintain tools and equipment and keep the work area safe and organized.
