ELECTRIC AND GAS WELDER

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of relevant work experience in welding.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Knowledge of SMAW welding techniques and procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret welding symbols, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Familiarity with metal preparation, cutting, grinding, and fitting.
• Willingness to undergo a trade test.
• Willingness to attend a Russian language course.
• Ability to follow welding specifications and workplace safety requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Perform welding operations using Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) according to technical specifications and approved drawings.
• Read and interpret welding symbols, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Prepare metal surfaces and materials by cleaning, cutting, grinding, and fitting components before welding.
• Select appropriate electrodes, welding current, and welding techniques based on the material and job requirements.
• Ensure welded joints meet required quality standards and technical specifications.
• Inspect completed welds for visible defects and report issues requiring correction.
• Follow workplace safety procedures when handling welding equipment, tools, and materials.
• Maintain welding equipment and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Cooperate with supervisors and other workers to complete assigned fabrication and welding tasks.
