tellar Recruitment (NZ) Limited is seeking highly skilled Mechanical Designers to join leading engineering and construction projects in New Zealand. This opportunity is ideal for experienced professionals with extensive expertise in Revit, Fire Sprinkler Systems, and Fire Alarm System Design who are capable of delivering complete mechanical and fire protection system designs from concept to completion.

MECHANICAL DESIGNER

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Designer.
• Minimum of 3 years of Revit experience specifically in designing Fire Sprinkler Systems.
• Extensive experience with Revit software is mandatory.
• Strong experience in the design of Fire Sprinkler and Fire Alarm Systems.
• Must be capable of performing complete system design, not limited to drafting.
  Proficient in performing hydraulic calculations for fire sprinkler systems.
• Strong understanding of fire protection engineering principles, mechanical system design, and applicable safety codes.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop mechanical and fire protection systems in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.
• Create detailed Revit models, construction drawings, and technical documentation for fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems.
• Perform hydraulic calculations for fire sprinkler systems to ensure system performance and code compliance.
• Design complete fire protection systems, including pipe layouts, sprinkler placement, fire alarm integration, and associated mechanical components.
• Coordinate design activities with project managers, engineers, architects, contractors, and clients.
• Review project requirements and recommend practical, cost-effective, and code-compliant design solutions.
• Ensure all designs comply with New Zealand building regulations, fire protection standards, and applicable international codes.
• Revise and update drawings based on design reviews, site requirements, and engineering changes.
• Participate in design coordination meetings and provide technical support throughout project execution.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, calculations, and revision records.
• Support project delivery by resolving technical issues and ensuring design quality.
• Perform other engineering and design duties assigned by management.
