FUEL TECHNICIAN

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of total relevant work experience, including at least 3 years of overseas work experience.
  • Experience installing below-ground retail fuel systems.
  • Proven experience installing NUPI, UPP, and/or Durapipe piping systems.
  • Skilled in installing fibreglass fuel tanks, fuel dispensers, pumps, and ATG systems.
  • Experience performing Sherlock testing, plastic welding, pressure testing, and leak testing.
  • Knowledge of Fibrelite products and underground fuel infrastructure is highly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and installation specifications.
  • Good English communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Install below-ground retail fuel systems for commercial and service station projects.
  • Install NUPI, UPP, and Durapipe piping systems used in underground fuel distribution.
  • Install, position, and fit fibreglass underground fuel storage tanks.
  • Install and commission Automatic Tank Gauge (ATG) monitoring systems.
  • Install, align, and mechanically connect fuel dispensers, pumps, and associated equipment.
  • Perform Sherlock testing, pressure testing, leak detection, and plastic welding to ensure system integrity.
  • Install and work with Fibrelite access covers and associated products in accordance with industry standards.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, installation plans, and technical specifications.
  • Conduct inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of fuel systems.
  • Maintain accurate installation records, inspection reports, and testing documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, fuel industry standards, and workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Operate tools, testing equipment, lifting devices, and installation machinery safely.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and site personnel to complete installations efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite.
  • Perform other fuel system installation and maintenance duties assigned by management.
