Our employer in New Zealand is in need of the following position:
MECHANICAL DRAFTSMAN
Qualifications:
- Age requirement: Not more than 50 years old.
- At least 5 years overseas experience in designing:
- Fire Sprinkler Systems
- Fire Alarm Systems
- Must be involved in actual system design, not just drafting work.
- Knowledgeable in completing hydraulic calculations for fire protection systems.
- Supported with verifiable employment documents as a Mechanical Draftsman.
- Must have excellent English communication skills.
- Strong understanding of fire protection systems, construction drawings, and mechanical drafting standards.
- Proficient in CAD and drafting software used in mechanical and fire protection design.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, plans, and engineering requirements accurately.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with engineering and project teams.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and develop detailed mechanical and fire protection system drawings and layouts.
- Design fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems according to project specifications and safety standards.
- Perform hydraulic calculations and ensure system compliance with engineering requirements and regulations.
- Review and interpret technical drawings, project plans, and construction specifications.
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and site teams regarding design requirements and revisions.
- Update and revise drawings based on project changes, approvals, and site conditions.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality of drafting and design documentation.
- Maintain organized records of drawings, calculations, and project files.
- Support project teams in resolving technical and design-related issues.
- Follow company procedures, engineering standards, and workplace safety requirements at all times.
