INSTRUMENT TECHNICIAN

Qualifications:

• Diploma/Certificate in Instrumentation, Control Systems, or related field.
• 5–10 years’ experience in instrumentation commissioning with DCS/SIS/F&G.
• Proven experience with Emerson DeltaV in oil & gas/petrochemical projects.
• Knowledge of ISA, IEC, NFPA, and API standards.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary commissioning team.

Responsibilities:

• Perform instrumentation pre-commissioning and commissioning activities in oil & gas or petrochemical projects
• Conduct loop checks, instrument calibration, I/O verification, and functional testing of control and safety systems
• Assist in the configuration and commissioning of Emerson DeltaV systems (DCS/SIS/F&G)
• Interpret and work from P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring schematics, and instrument datasheets
• Follow industry standards including ISA, IEC, NFPA, and API during all commissioning activities
• Support the commissioning team in troubleshooting, fault rectification, and system integration
• Maintain accurate documentation including test records, punch lists, and daily reports
• Ensure compliance with site safety procedures and actively participate in toolbox talks and permit systems
• Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team under the direction of the Lead Instrument Technician or Commissioning Engineer
