DESCON Engineering is looking for experienced Gas Fitters (Fabricators) to join its oil and gas operations in the United Arab Emirates. The successful candidates will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing piping systems and related components used in refineries, petrochemical plants, gas processing facilities, and pipeline projects. The role requires technical expertise in pipe fabrication, blueprint interpretation, and compliance with industry safety and quality standards.

GAS FITTER (FABRICATOR)

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 2 years of working experience is required.
• Candidates must be at least a High School Graduate.
• Experience in the Oil & Gas industry is mandatory.
• Proven experience fabricating and assembling piping systems used in refineries, petrochemical plants, gas processing facilities, and pipeline projects.
• Ability to read and interpret piping drawings, isometric drawings, and fabrication blueprints.
• Knowledge of pipe fabrication techniques, measurements, and industry fabrication standards.
• Familiarity with fabrication tools, cutting equipment, grinders, and measuring instruments.
• Strong understanding of workplace safety practices and quality control procedures in industrial environments.
• Good communication skills in English or Arabic.
• Physically fit and able to work in demanding construction and industrial environments.
• Able to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Male applicants are preferred for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Fabricate, assemble, and install piping systems, pipe supports, fittings, valves, and related components used in oil and gas facilities.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, isometric drawings, piping layouts, and fabrication specifications.
• Measure, cut, bevel, fit, and prepare pipes and structural components for welding and installation.
• Assemble piping spools and fabricated components according to project specifications and approved drawings.
• Perform fit-up activities, ensuring proper alignment, dimensions, and tolerances before welding.
• Operate fabrication equipment and hand tools safely and efficiently.
• Inspect fabricated components to ensure compliance with quality standards and project requirements.
• Coordinate with welders, supervisors, inspectors, and other construction personnel during fabrication and installation activities.
• Follow company safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and environmental regulations at all times.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area while ensuring proper handling of materials and equipment.
• Report fabrication issues, material shortages, and safety concerns to supervisors promptly.
• Participate in shutdown, maintenance, and construction activities as required.
