Aureol Global Connections is seeking a highly experienced Engineering Manager specializing in High Voltage (HV) Cable systems to support complex transmission and distribution projects in the United Kingdom. The role involves leading engineering design, installation, commissioning, and technical management of EHV/HV cable systems while ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
Engineering Manager (HV Cable)
Qualifications:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or equivalent
- Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) with IET or IMechE
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in EHV/HV cable system design, installation, and commissioning
- Strong experience in technical procurement and supplier management for HV cable systems
- In-depth knowledge of IEC standards, British Standards, and National Grid technical specifications
- Proven experience in leading technical investigations and implementing corrective actions
- Demonstrated leadership in managing and developing engineering teams
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage engineering activities for HV/EHV cable system projects
- Oversee design, installation, testing, and commissioning of HV cable systems
- Provide technical direction for procurement and supplier management of cable components and systems
- Ensure compliance with IEC standards, British Standards, and National Grid technical specifications
- Conduct technical investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Lead and develop engineering teams to ensure high performance and technical excellence
- Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, and project documentation
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project delivery targets are met
- Support digital engineering initiatives and integration of GIS-based cable planning tools
