Diesel Mechanic

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic servicing diesel engines and heavy equipment.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics, maintenance, and repair procedures.
• Experience with trucks, commercial vehicles, generators, construction equipment, or industrial machinery.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and fuel system faults.
• Proficient in using diagnostic scanners, testing equipment, and precision measuring tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and engineering diagrams.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Physically fit and able to work in workshop and field environments.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines used in trucks, buses, heavy equipment, generators, and other diesel-powered machinery.
• Perform preventive maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and scheduled servicing.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, fuel, cooling, transmission, steering, braking, and electrical system faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Carry out engine overhauls, component replacements, and major mechanical repairs.
• Repair and service fuel injection systems, turbochargers, cooling systems, exhaust systems, and drivetrain components.
• Conduct breakdown repairs in the workshop or on-site when required.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operation and compliance with manufacturer specifications.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, service guides, and repair procedures.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, service reports, and repair documentation.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of workshop tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Follow workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Perform other mechanical maintenance duties assigned by supervisors.
