AUTO ELECTRICIAN

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience is required.
• Candidates must be a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic) or a similar field.
• Male applicants are preferred for this role.
• Automotive Electrical Technology or related technical training is an advantage.
• Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems in vehicles.
• Knowledge of automotive electrical and electronic systems, wiring, circuits, sensors, batteries, starters, alternators, and related components.
• Ability to read and understand basic automotive wiring diagrams and technical instructions.
• Ability to safely use electrical testing instruments and automotive diagnostic equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to install, repair, and replace vehicle electrical wiring and components.
• Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on work in an automotive workshop environment.
• Good understanding of workplace safety procedures when working with vehicle electrical systems and batteries.
• Responsible, reliable, hardworking, and committed to quality workmanship.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicle electrical and electronic systems.
• Inspect vehicles to identify electrical faults, wiring problems, defective components, and electronic system issues.
• Use appropriate diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and electrical instruments to troubleshoot vehicle problems.
• Test batteries, alternators, starters, wiring circuits, fuses, relays, switches, sensors, and other electrical components.
• Install, repair, replace, and modify electrical wiring and components as required.
• Repair or replace damaged wiring, connectors, terminals, fuses, relays, and other electrical parts.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle lighting systems, including headlights, signal lights, brake lights, and interior lighting.
• Inspect and troubleshoot starting and charging systems.
• Assist in diagnosing electronic control systems and vehicle electrical communication issues.
• Follow wiring diagrams, technical manuals, manufacturer specifications, and repair procedures.
• Ensure all electrical installations, repairs, and connections are completed properly and safely.
• Conduct testing after repairs to confirm that electrical and electronic systems are functioning correctly.
• Identify recurring electrical problems and report major faults or repair requirements to supervisors.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, diagnostics, repairs, replaced components, and service activities.
• Maintain electrical tools, diagnostic equipment, and workshop equipment in good working condition.
• Properly store and handle electrical components, tools, batteries, and related materials.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe automotive workshop.
• Follow company safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment.
• Coordinate with auto mechanics, technicians, service advisors, and other workshop personnel.
• Perform other automotive electrical and electronic repair duties assigned by management.
