DRUM TWISTER

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience in drum twisting, cable manufacturing, wire production, or a related industrial manufacturing environment.
  • At least a high school graduate.
  • Experience operating drum twister machines or similar cable manufacturing equipment.
  • Knowledge of cable twisting, take-up operations, tension control, lay length, and machine operating parameters.
  • Ability to properly load and secure drums, reels, cables, and production materials.
  • Ability to monitor machine performance and identify cable tangling, twisting defects, wire breakage, and other production problems.
  • Knowledge of basic machine adjustments and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to perform accurate in-process measurements and quality inspections.
  • Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on production and machine operation duties.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Able to follow technical instructions, production specifications, safety procedures, and workplace rules.
  • Good teamwork, communication, reliability, and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate drum twister machines and related cable manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Set up drum twister machines according to product specifications and production requirements.
  • Load, position, and securely fasten drums, reels, cables, and raw materials onto the machine.
  • Feed and guide cables correctly through the twisting and take-up systems.
  • Set and monitor machine speed, cable tension, lay length, and other operating parameters.
  • Adjust machine controls to maintain consistent twisting performance and product quality.
  • Monitor machine operation throughout production to prevent cable tangling, improper twisting, wire breakage, and other defects.
  • Ensure cables are properly aligned and guided through the twisting process.
  • Conduct in-process inspections and measurements to verify cable construction and dimensions.
  • Inspect finished cables for proper twisting, appearance, diameter, construction, and overall quality.
  • Identify twisting defects, cable damage, uneven tension, and other production abnormalities.
  • Make necessary machine adjustments to maintain consistent product quality and production efficiency.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of machine and production problems.
  • Report major equipment faults, abnormal machine conditions, and recurring production issues to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
  • Check drums, reels, guides, tensioning systems, and take-up equipment before and during operation.
  • Follow production schedules, work instructions, technical specifications, and quality control procedures.
  • Record production output, machine settings, measurements, defects, and other required production information.
  • Handle cables, raw materials, drums, and reels properly to prevent damage and unnecessary material waste.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas around the drum twister and production equipment.
  • Perform basic cleaning, inspection, and routine maintenance of the machine as required.
  • Follow workplace safety procedures when operating machinery and handling cables, drums, tools, and production materials.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, quality control personnel, maintenance staff, and other production workers to ensure smooth manufacturing operations.
  • Perform other cable manufacturing and drum twister duties assigned by management.
