Automotive Panel Beater

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience
• Holder of a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Metal Fabrication, Welding, or related field
• High school diploma or vocational certification in Automotive Body Repair or Panel Beating
• Proven experience as a Panel Beater or Automotive Body Repair Technician
• Strong knowledge of vehicle body structures, repair methods, and welding techniques
• Ability to read and interpret repair manuals and technical drawings
• Familiarity with automotive body repair tools and equipment
• Physically fit and able to perform workshop duties including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods
• Commitment to safety standards and quality workmanship

Responsibilities:

• Inspect vehicles to assess body damage and determine required repair procedures.
• Repair dents, scratches, and damaged body panels using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Remove, replace, and fit damaged components such as doors, fenders, bumpers, and panels.
• Straighten bent vehicle frames and structural components using specialized frame straightening equipment.
• Weld, grind, cut, and fabricate metal parts as required for repair and restoration.
• Apply body fillers to dents and imperfections and prepare surfaces for painting and finishing.
• Align repaired panels to ensure proper fit, finish, and factory specifications.
• Operate automotive body repair equipment including welding machines, hydraulic tools, and frame alignment systems.
• Follow manufacturer repair procedures and technical specifications at all times.
• Conduct quality inspections to ensure all repairs meet company and customer standards.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and ensure a clean, safe, and organized working environment.
• Comply with workplace health and safety regulations and industry best practices.
