Automation Engineer

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree (EQF/NLQF Level 5) in:
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Industrial Automation
    • Mechatronics
    • Related technical disciplines
  • Relevant training and experience in industrial automation and production systems.
  • Experience working in food, beverage, or packaging production lines is required.
  • Experience in the canning industry is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with PLC-controlled equipment and automation systems.
  • Ability to analyze complex electrical, control, and automation problems.
  • Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with technical and production teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the optimization and improvement of PLC-controlled production equipment.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues involving electrical, control, and automation systems.
  • Perform system assessments and translate findings into practical improvement actions.
  • Support maintenance and production teams in improving equipment performance and reliability.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of automation solutions for production processes.
  • Monitor automation systems and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  • Ensure industrial equipment operates safely, efficiently, and according to production requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and production teams to achieve operational goals.
  • Maintain technical documentation and support continuous improvement initiatives.
