ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in rig installation.
- Experience in operating, installing, maintaining, or troubleshooting industrial equipment.
- Technical or engineering education, training, or coursework; an associate degree or bachelor’s degree is an advantage, as specified by the employer.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, assembly prints, electrical schematics, and technical drawings.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and repair equipment faults.
- Knowledge of electrical components, wiring systems, testing procedures, and equipment maintenance.
- Familiarity with electrical testing instruments, hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to follow technical instructions, engineering specifications, and established work procedures.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers.
- Ability to explain technical information and assist customers with equipment-related concerns.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with engineers, technicians, and installation teams.
- Willingness to follow workplace safety rules and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Responsible, reliable, and capable of working in an industrial or rig installation environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the installation, assembly, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment used in rig operations.
- Inspect electrical components, wiring systems, control panels, and related equipment to ensure proper installation and operation.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, assembly prints, and technical drawings.
- Install, connect, and test electrical wiring, cables, connectors, switches, sensors, and other electrical components.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical equipment and systems.
- Diagnose electrical faults, equipment malfunctions, and operational problems using appropriate testing instruments.
- Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and adjust defective electrical components to restore equipment functionality.
- Test electrical systems after installation or repair to verify safe and reliable operation.
- Assist with equipment setup, operational checks, and performance testing during rig installation activities.
- Identify potential electrical hazards and report defects or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
- Follow technical manuals, engineering specifications, manufacturer instructions, and approved work procedures.
- Use hand tools, power tools, electrical testing instruments, and diagnostic equipment safely and correctly.
- Coordinate with mechanical technicians, engineers, rig installation personnel, and other team members to resolve technical issues.
- Provide technical information and assistance to customers regarding equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Respond to customer concerns professionally and communicate technical findings clearly.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment testing.
- Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas remain clean, organized, and in good working condition.
- Follow company policies, workplace safety procedures, and applicable electrical safety requirements.
- Perform other related electrical installation, maintenance, and repair duties assigned by management.
